Who is it for?

From babies to baby boomers and all those in between! Anytime, Anywhere (and Anyone!).

Those who are rushed, travelling, in need of care, going out from the gym, going to a festival, protecting your blow dry, avoiding residue or volume, not wanting wet hair in the cold… and for those with little ones. Those parents and carers who are rushed, want to avoid tears and tantrums and get out of the house with clean, happy tots (and your sanity intact).

How long can I use Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo for?

Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo can be used everyday if needed. It has been designed and formulated for long-term use if required.

How much do I need to use? How long does a bottle last?

This varies depending on the thickness and length of your hair, whether you are doing just your scalp / roots or your whole head & whether you are applying it (or your toddler is playing with the pump!). 🙂

Each 100ml bottle contains over 100 pumps.

I use 2 or 3 pumps to wash my fringe and about 15 – 20 to wash all of my daughters very long, quite thick hair (halfway down her back).

I have {insert your hair type here!} hair. Can I Ting Tang?

Yes! Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo can be used on all and every hair type, colour and texture, as well as bleached and colour treated hair. It is designed to be very mild and gentle.

Remember that you can also just use it on your roots.

Will it remove hairspray, build up and residue from traditional dry shampoo?

Yes it will!

Can I just wash my roots?

Absolutely! I tend to just do my fringe and roots, whilst I do my daughter’s whole head.

It’s your scalp and roots that get oily and generally the most dirt. Unless, of course, your toddler likes eating ice cream whilst sitting on your shoulders!

Can I use a hairdryer?

Yes! Just make sure to remove as much of the product as possible before you do so. If you reach straight for the hairdryer then you won’t be removing the dirt.

Will it leave the dreaded white residue or make my hair sticky?

Not at all! Because Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo actually cleans the hair, instead of just masking the dirt, there is absolutely no residue. Once you have towel-dried thoroughly to remove the product, hair is left soft, shiny, clean and manageable. Absolutely no stickiness!

Will Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo add volume to my hair?

This product will not add volume, making it fabulous for those with super thick, curly or afro hair who may not want additional volume.

But I’d like some extra volume in my clean hair!

Fear not! If you do want additional volume:

a) Let us know for our future products.

b) If you’re just washing your roots, it’s possible to add a little boost by teasing and raising your hair at your scalp as you’re drying it, either with just your fingertips or hairdryer and brush if that’s how you normally style. As you don’t wet your hair with Ting Tang, there isn’t the weight pulling your hair down, flattening it.

Can I use it on coloured hair?

Absolutely. Ting Tang’s Dry Wash Shampoo is pH balanced and very mild and far gentler on the hair than most traditional shampoos.

If you’re just washing your roots / scalp, then Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo can help prolong the vibrancy of your colour as you’ll be shampooing and blow drying less often (the main causes of coloured hair fading). However, we always recommend that you carry out a patch test 24 hours before using any product for the first time.

Can I use Ting Tang’s Dry Wash Shampoo twice?

Yes, if your hair is especially dirty or oily or covered with excessive magenta lipstick from your toddler.

Is it fragrance free?

Yes, TingTang Dry Wash Shampoo and TingTang Tots Dry Wash Shampoo are both fragrance free. We will be bringing out some fabulous fragrances too, so tell us which is your favourite scent.

Is it safe to use when pregnant?

Absolutely. Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo is a very gentle, mild shampoo and can be used during any period of your pregnancy, from suffering morning sickness to popping it in your hospital bag so you’re all clean and fresh for your new arrival. See our “Free From”s section below.

Can I use Ting Tang’s Dry Wash Shampoo on my baby or child?

Yes! It cleans beautifully, is very mild and gentle and is safe for use on children. We also have a special line for children: Ting Tang Tots.

Going forward, TingTang Tots will have special products made especially for your Little Ones, but for now Ting Tang Dry Wash Shampoo and Ting Tang Tots Dry Wash Shampoo are exactly the same product.

We recommend that you carry out a patch test on your tot 24 hours before using any product for the first time.

TING TANG TOTS FAQs

What is the difference between Ting Tang and Ting Tang Tots?

For now, there is no difference. Both contain the same fragrance free, Dry Wash Shampoo.

Going forward, Ting Tang will have products for adults, whilst Tots will have a line of products made especially for your Little Ones (and tested on mine!).

What makes Ting Tang Tots Dry Wash Shampoo different from other children’s shampoos?

Ting Tang Tots will clean your Little One’s hair, without the need for water or rinsing.

If your child:

• Doesn’t like washing their hair, getting their ears/ face / head / hair wet or getting shampoo in their eyes

• Has sensory processing concerns, an illness or disability that makes traditional bathing challenging

• Is covered with who-knows-what and you’re out of time or patience or out on the go

• Is super independent and insists upon doing everything themselves (always supervise your Tots when using Ting Tang).

• Is doing baby led weaning 🙂

• Likes foam (or their fingers going wrinkly, as is the current concern with my daughter!)

Is Ting Tang Tots a “No Tears” shampoo?

Ting Tang Tots is a mild and very gentle shampoo and because it is a foam that requires absolutely no water or rinsing, shouldn’t get in your Tots’ eyes. If, however, contact does occur, please rinse eyes with cold water. We recommend that you carry out a patch test 24 hours prior to using any new product.

Will Ting Tang Tots Dry Wash Shampoo really alleviate mum guilt?*

All the mummies, daddies and carers that we’ve spoken to confirm that YES, “mum guilt*” is lessened. Your Tots will have clean hair, with minimal fuss (no sopping wet floors, clothes, shampoo in the eyes, tears, or tantrums over washing) and you can take a deep breath and relax for 3 seconds.

Are your products cruelty free?

Yes! We have not, we do not and we will not test on animals. Nor do we ask anyone to test on our behalf. Ting Tang products are only ever tested on children and parents (starting with me and my child).

Ting Tang believes that beauty should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements. All of our own brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.

Ting Tang is also 100% compliant with the EC’s ‘Cosmetics Directive’ that prohibits animal testing on individual toiletries ingredients as well as finished products.

Are your products suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians?

Yes, Ting Tang products are suitable for both Vegans and Vegetarians as they do not contain any animal or animal-derived ingredients. Our approval with Cruelty Free International confirms our ingredients are Vegan friendly and we are in the process of registering our products with The Vegan Society.

Are your products gluten free?

Yes!

Does Ting Tang contain parabens?

All our products are free from parabens as we are aware of the concerns involving them.

Do I need to patch test?

Ting Tang products are formulated to be extremely mild and gentle, however as a common sense precaution, we always recommend that a patch test be carried out at least 24 hours prior to first use of any new product.

The best places to test are inside the upper arm and behind the ear, but don’t test on skin that may already be irritated.

Where are your products made?

We are delighted to say that Ting Tang is formulated, designed, produced and manufactured in the UK.

Are your products recyclable?

Ting Tang bottles and lids are all recyclable and feature the recycling triangle on the bottom of the bottles. This means that they can be rinsed and placed alongside your milk cartons in your recycling bin. The pumps can be recycled but this depends on the processing facilities in your region, so please check with your local council.

I’m currently working through all the boroughs, starting with London. So far, I can confirm that the following councils accept the full Ting Tang packaging in your recycle bin: Hammersmith and Fulham Kensington and Chelsea Lambeth and Wandsworth

Our postal packaging is also 100% recyclable. In terms of manufacturing, the end plugs have at least 10% of recycled plastic content, with the black plugs often having a little bit more of multi-coloured recycled plastic content.
